IELTS Academic & IELTS General Test Format:

Reading: 40 Questions - 60 Minutes
The Reading module tests your comprehension skills by presenting a variety of academic and general passages. You will be challenged to identify the main idea, supporting details, and specific information within the passages through a range of question formats. Academic Reading will have only 3 passages. Two passages will have 13 questions each, while one passage will have 14 questions. In General Reading, the candidates are given 3 sections, each having 13 or 14 questions. However, two sections may have more than one passage each.

If you desire to pursue your higher studies in an English speaking country, such as The USA, Canada, The United Kingdom, Australia, etc., you will be required to take IELTS Academic.
An overall score of 7 bands or above is a good score in IELTS Academic. Note that you should not get below 6 in any of the modules: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
In IELTS, there are four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
We recommend that students spend a minimum of 6-8 weeks or 30 days preparing for the IELTS exam, focusing on grammar, reading, writing, listening & speaking. We also recommend test takers to spend about 3 to 4 hours every day improving their speed, test strategies and skills.
IELTS scores are considered valid for two years from the date of the test. This means that most universities, immigration authorities, and employers typically accept IELTS scores that are up to two years old.
There is no specific limit on the number of attempts for the IELTS.

The IELTS Academic Reading test is made up of three parts and a total of 40 questions. You are recommended to spend 20 minutes on each part. Each of the three sections contains one long text with sets of two or three different types of questions attached to it.
All three sections contain 2,150-2,750 words in total.
The Reading Section of IELTS Academic becomes difficult because the language of the given questions is twisted deliberately to confuse the test takers. To add salt to the injury, different synonyms are used to complicate the matter further. Nevertheless, Global Course has necessary expertise and tools to tackle the Reading Section successfully.
The Academic Reading test is made up of 3 long texts which are taken from current books, journals, magazines and newspapers.
Your IELTS Reading scores are calculated by the number of correct answers you have out of 40 questions in the test.
'Not Given' is used when you cannot find evidence to support OR contradict the sentence. Remember that the whole sentence needs to be mentioned in the article for it to be considered a 'Yes' or 'No' answer.
