FAQs for TOEFL Writing:
No specific eligibility criteria have been defined by ETS. However, the earliest the students sit for the TOEFL is while they are in the 12th grade and want to pursue their higher education abroad, mainly The USA, Canada, etc.
An average TOEFL score is around 90. It may vary from 85 to 95. Anything above 100 is considered a good TOEFL score.
The TOEFL iBT test has four sections: Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.
If you understand the majority of the language, but have trouble with the format of the test, it may be 6 - 8 weeks of preparation. If the general language level is very difficult for you, getting to a high TOEFL score (>90) could take 2 - 3 month. In that case, you may have to do The TOEFL Foundation Course of Global Course.
TOEFL scores are valid for only two years. The validation date of the exam starts after 5-7 days when the results are declared. A candidate can only use their TOEFL scores for two years before the validity date.
ETS does not limit the number of TOEFL attempts made by a candidate. However, majority of the candidates take TOEFL only once.
Transitional words and phrases are a crucial component of your writing, especially in TOEFL Writing task one. You will have to transition between contrasting points of view in both the reading and listening passage.
The TOEFL writing section is scored by ETS examiners centrally, not at each test location.
There are two writing tasks.
The Integrated Writing Task in TOEFL requires you to compare, contrast and analyse the contents of a Reading Passage and an Audio on the same topic. The Audio may be a lecture, a discussion, etc.
Master the techniques of Rapid Reading, i.e. Skimming and Scanning and develop and execute an effective strategy. We, at Global Course, have the expertise and the requisite tools to tack the TOEFL Reading Section effectively.
